3rd projectathon with the European Commission to facilitate the exchange of official documents
With Kereval’s support, the European Commission organized a 3rd OOTS (Once Only Technical System) projectathon in Brussels from October 17 to 19, to facilitate the exchange of official documents and data. Kereval’s teams provided part of the technical preparation for the event, with the configuration of the open source interoperability testing platform (creation of simulators and validators), then, on site, test monitoring and technical support for the event.
The Once Only Technical System project is led by the European Union as part of its strategy for digital transformation and improved public services for EU citizens and businesses. OOTS is part of an interoperability program managed by the European Commission. The project aims to improve the way data is collected, stored and shared across government systems and public services. Its aim is to enable citizens and businesses to provide their personal information only once to public authorities, and to ensure that this data is shared securely between different government agencies. It also simplifies administrative processes and reduces the cost of public services.
To enable member states to put into practice the single exchange of documents such as diplomas, identity documents, company registers, etc., the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Information has organized the OOTS Projectathon. This test event focuses on the interoperability of information systems to ensure that member states’ document exchange platforms operate smoothly and efficiently.
Testing is carried out using the Gazelle test platform. Gazelle enables tests to be carried out on issues relating to authentication, identity management, data management, system interoperability, cybersecurity, etc.
This year, in April and June, the first two Projectathons were held to enable Member States to improve the implementation of their portals. This third edition will have enabled participants to carry out more tests and validate the interoperability of their platform.
