The Interop’Santé / IHE-France association, which helps to harmonize and promote the exchange of healthcare information in France, announced on April 8 the election of 2 new co-presidents of IHE-France and the president of HL7 France. Abdelmoula Tamoudi, CEO of IHE-Europe member Kereval, has been elected co-chairman of IHE-France to represent digital health companies, Jean-François Lahaye of Lille University Hospital, for health and primary care structures, and Nicolas Riss, interoperability and innovation expert at ANS (Agence du numérique en santé) has been re-elected chairman of HL7 France.

They were elected by Interop’Santé members for a 2-year term.

What will be the missions of the co-presidents?

The co-presidents of IHE-France represent the Interop’Santé association on IHE’s national and international bodies:

  • coordinate IHE-France activities within Interop’Santé in France
  • Propose and follow up specific actions around IHE activities: training, awareness-raising, IHE promotion, working groups, etc.
  • Participate in IHE Europe and IHE International board meetings,
  • Act as liaison between IHE Europe and IHE International,
  • Define the budget for their activities in consultation with the Treasurer,
  • Ensure the participation of one of the co-chairs on the Interop’Santé Board of Directors.

Interop’Santé’s role

Interop’Santé was founded in 2009, and today has a membership of almost 150 industrial players in the information systems sector (publishers, integrators, consultants, etc.), users (healthcare and medico-social establishments and professionals, learned societies and professional associations, etc.) and representatives of public authorities and standardization bodies. The association brings together several organizations working to standardize IT exchanges in the healthcare sector: HL7 France (HealthLevel 7), HPRIM (Harmoniser et Promouvoir l’Informatique Médicale), IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) and PN13-IS (Prise en Charge Médicamenteuse du Patient).

To help promote the interoperability of healthcare information systems at French, European and international levels, the group’s actions involve close coordination and collaboration with IHE-Europe, IHE International and the international HL7 FHIR community. One of the key areas of focus will be to share the work carried out by IHE-France on the norms and standards chosen by France, in order to promote them at European and international levels.
