Kereval is pleased to announce that its application for membership in the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) was approved by the association’s members on September 22.

As an internationally recognized European standards organization, ETSI contributes to the development of standards in numerous fields of information and communication technologies, particularly mobile telecommunications, with work that has supported the development of GSM, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies.

By joining ETSI, Kereval aims to become more involved in standardization efforts and collaborate with industry and institutional stakeholders who help drive the evolution of European and international standards.

In particular, Kereval intends to leverage his expertise in conformance testing, interoperability testing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, as well as his experience in the field of digital health (e-health). This expertise provides concrete insights into the testability of specifications, their implementation, and the ability of systems to work together.

Beyond contributing to the development of norms and standards, Kereval aims to participate in defining the associated testing strategies and methods. Testing is, in fact, an essential tool for verifying the relevance of specifications, identifying implementation challenges, and contributing to the continuous improvement of standards.

Artificial intelligence also opens up new possibilities for standardization and testing activities. ETSI’s work on Smart Test Development, in particular, explores the use of AI to facilitate the transformation of requirements into test specifications that can be processed by tools. These approaches could help make testing activities more automated, reproducible, and efficient, while maintaining control over the quality of the results.

Through this membership, Kereval aims to strengthen its commitment to the standardization ecosystem and help bridge the gap between standards, their operational implementation, and their validation through testing.
